Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Operations and in collaboration with the department's Physician Director, the Clinical Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinic and provides leadership to the clinical staff. This role supports the implementation of departmental strategies, operational initiatives, and hospital-wide programs while ensuring efficient clinic operations, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience.

Essential Functions
- Lead, hire, train, schedule, and support clinical and supervisory staff across clinic locations, partnering closely with department leadership.
- Evaluate staff performance and competencies while promoting ongoing professional development.
- Support the implementation of new workflows, policies, and processes to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement workflow improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and patient care.
- Assist with developing, monitoring, and managing departmental operating and capital budgets while supporting responsible financial stewardship.
- Allocate and redeploy staff as needed to meet patient care demands and maintain efficient clinic operations.
- Ensure resources are used effectively to provide an excellent patient experience, including appropriate accommodations for patients with diverse needs.
- Respond to patient questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner.
- Monitor quality, service, patient satisfaction, and operational performance metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Participate in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives that support operational excellence and organizational goals.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required.
Experience
5–7 years of management experience in an ophthalmology setting required.
