Which consulting companies sponsor H-1B1 visas in Massachusetts?
Large professional services firms with a significant Massachusetts presence, including Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Accenture, and Bain, have filed H-1B1 Labor Condition Applications in the state. Specialized technology and management consulting firms serving Boston's life sciences and financial sectors also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as H-1B1 sponsors. Sponsorship availability varies by firm, practice area, and hiring cycle.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most consulting H-1B1 sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of consulting H-1B1 sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, driven by the concentration of corporate headquarters, financial institutions, and life sciences companies that retain consulting firms. The Route 128 corridor, including Waltham and Burlington, also hosts consulting offices serving the technology and biopharma sectors. Worcester and Springfield represent smaller but active secondary markets.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for H-1B1 sponsorship?
H-1B1 sponsorship applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In consulting, roles that commonly meet this standard include management consultant, strategy analyst, technology consultant, financial advisory specialist, and data analytics consultant, where the position requires a directly related degree. Generalist roles without a defined degree requirement may face more scrutiny during the LCA and petition review process.
How do I find consulting H-1B1 sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters consulting H-1B1 sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts by visa type and industry, so you're not sorting through listings from employers who don't sponsor. You can browse verified consulting openings across Boston, Cambridge, and surrounding areas and see which firms have an active sponsorship history for H-1B1 applicants in the professional services sector.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for H-1B1 consulting sponsorship?
Massachusetts does not impose additional state-level work visa requirements beyond federal H-1B1 rules, but the state's competitive consulting market means employers often have established immigration counsel and structured sponsorship processes. Boston's high concentration of professional services clients in regulated industries, including financial services and life sciences, can affect project staffing timelines, which may in turn influence when firms open sponsored roles.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 consulting jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
