Which medical devices companies sponsor visas in Massachusetts?
Major sponsors include Boston Scientific (headquartered in Marlborough), Medtronic (Canton facility), Abbott Labs (multiple locations), and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Smaller innovative companies in Cambridge and Boston's biotech corridor also frequently sponsor H-1B and other work visas for specialized engineering and regulatory roles.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most medical devices sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge lead with the highest concentration, followed by Marlborough, Waltham, and Canton. These areas host major company headquarters and R&D facilities. The Route 495 corridor, including towns like Hopkinton and Natick, also offers significant opportunities with medical device manufacturers.
How to find medical devices visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for medical devices roles with visa sponsorship in Massachusetts. The platform filters jobs by industry and location, showing which companies actively sponsor work visas. Focus on bioengineering, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and clinical research positions where international expertise is valued.
Which visa types are most common for medical devices roles in Massachusetts?
H-1B visas dominate for engineering, regulatory affairs, and clinical research positions requiring specialized knowledge. O-1 visas may apply for individuals with extraordinary ability in medical device innovation. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying engineering roles, while E-3 visas serve Australian professionals.
What makes Massachusetts medical devices jobs attractive for visa sponsorship?
The state's concentration of FDA regulatory expertise, proximity to world-renowned medical institutions, and established medtech ecosystem creates high demand for specialized international talent. Companies often need professionals with specific regulatory knowledge, advanced engineering skills, and experience with complex medical device development that may be scarce domestically.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored medical devices jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
