Search Project Management Coordinator Jobs in MassachusettsProject Management Coordinator Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for project management coordinators in Massachusetts?
Biotech and life sciences firms including Biogen, Moderna, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals regularly sponsor H-1B visas for project management coordinators. Major defense contractors like Raytheon Technologies and General Dynamics Mission Systems, along with universities such as MIT, Harvard, and Boston University, also have established sponsorship track records for this role. Large hospital systems including Mass General Brigham round out the employer pool.
Which visa types are most common for project management coordinator roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management coordinators in Massachusetts, provided the role meets specialty occupation requirements, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Some candidates with multinational employer backgrounds use the L-1B for intracompany transfers. Those from Australia may qualify for the E-3, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore TN status under USMCA.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most project management coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of project management coordinator sponsorship opportunities, driven by concentrations of biotech, academic, and healthcare employers. Waltham hosts a significant cluster of life sciences and technology companies along Route 128, while Worcester has a growing healthcare and research presence. Framingham and Marlborough also see activity from medical device and technology firms.
How to find project management coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate lists project management coordinator roles in Massachusetts filtered specifically to employers who sponsor work visas, saving you the time of screening postings manually. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly by employer and industry in Massachusetts, using a focused platform like Migrate Mate lets you prioritize biotech, defense, and academic employers that have active sponsorship histories for this role type.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for project management coordinator visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts is a high-cost labor market, so prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are set at elevated levels reflecting the Boston metro area. The state's concentration of life sciences and defense employers means project management coordinators often need domain knowledge in those industries to be competitive. Many Massachusetts employers draw from local university pipelines at schools like Northeastern and Tufts, which can benefit candidates already in the area on F-1 OPT status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management coordinator jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
