Which companies in Michigan sponsor visas for corporate development managers?
Michigan's largest visa sponsors for corporate development roles include Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, Whirlpool, and Kellogg's. Healthcare systems like Henry Ford Health and Beaumont Health also hire for strategic development roles and have sponsored work visas. These employers typically file H-1B visa petitions for corporate development managers with specialized finance, M&A, or strategy backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for corporate development manager roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa for corporate development managers in Michigan, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, finance, or a related field. Candidates with multinational employer ties may qualify for an L-1A intracompany transferee visa. Executives with exceptional records in M&A or strategy sometimes pursue the O-1A, though this is less common.
Which cities in Michigan have the most corporate development manager sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its suburbs, particularly Dearborn, Troy, and Southfield, account for the largest share of corporate development manager openings in Michigan given the concentration of automotive and manufacturing headquarters. Ann Arbor offers opportunities through University of Michigan-affiliated ventures and technology firms. Grand Rapids is a growing market, particularly in healthcare and consumer goods, with sponsors including Meijer and Amway's parent company.
How to find corporate development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to browse corporate development manager openings in Michigan without sorting through roles that don't sponsor. You can filter by state and role type to surface positions at Michigan-based employers like automotive OEMs, healthcare systems, and manufacturing firms that have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates.
Are there any Michigan-specific considerations for corporate development managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Michigan's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B corporate development manager roles are benchmarked to the Detroit-Warren-Dearborn metropolitan area, which influences what employers must pay sponsored workers. The state's strong ties to Big Ten university pipelines, particularly from University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, mean employers are familiar with F-1 OPT transitions into sponsored roles. Candidates with automotive, mobility, or manufacturing industry expertise have a meaningful advantage with Michigan-based sponsors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored corporate development manager jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
