Which companies sponsor visas for director of project management roles in Michigan?
Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, and their Tier 1 suppliers are the most active sponsors for director-level project management roles in Michigan, given the state's automotive concentration. Large healthcare systems such as Henry Ford Health and Beaumont Health also sponsor senior project managers, as do technology firms and manufacturers based in the Detroit metro and Ann Arbor corridors.
Which visa types are most common for director of project management roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of project management positions in Michigan, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or information technology. Candidates with multinational employer relationships may qualify for an L-1A intracompany transferee visa. Individuals with exceptional records in the field may explore the O-1A category, though it carries a high evidentiary standard.
Which cities in Michigan have the most director of project management sponsorship jobs?
The Detroit metropolitan area, including Dearborn, Auburn Hills, and Warren, accounts for the largest share of director of project management sponsorship activity in Michigan due to its automotive and manufacturing base. Ann Arbor draws sponsorship from technology companies and the University of Michigan health system. Grand Rapids is an emerging secondary market, particularly in healthcare and advanced manufacturing, and has seen growing demand for senior project management leadership.
How to find director of project management visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify Michigan employers actively hiring director of project management candidates who need work authorization. Because director-level roles in Michigan skew heavily toward automotive, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors, filtering by industry alongside sponsorship status helps narrow results to companies with established international hiring programs and the infrastructure to support H-1B or similar petitions.
Are there state-specific considerations for director of project management sponsorship in Michigan?
Michigan's automotive industry operates on program-based project cycles tied to vehicle development timelines, which means director of project management roles often require domain knowledge in product lifecycle or engineering program management rather than general IT project delivery. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored positions reflect senior management compensation levels in the Detroit metro area, and employers must file a Labor Condition Application certifying the offered position meets those wage thresholds before submitting an H-1B petition.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of project management jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
