Which companies sponsor visas for patient service coordinators in Michigan?
The largest sponsors in Michigan are integrated health systems with high patient volume and dedicated HR infrastructure for immigration. Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan Medicine at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Spectrum Health (now Corewell Health) in Grand Rapids, and Beaumont Health in the Metro Detroit suburbs have all filed sponsorship petitions for healthcare administrative roles. Academic medical centers tend to have more established sponsorship processes than smaller community hospitals.
Which visa types are most common for patient service coordinator roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa for patient service coordinator roles that require a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, health information management, or a related field, since the role must qualify as a specialty occupation. Some positions at Michigan's nonprofit hospitals and university health systems may also qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filing. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying administrative health roles under USMCA.
Which cities in Michigan have the most patient service coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its metro suburbs (Dearborn, Royal Oak, Troy, Southfield) account for the highest concentration of patient service coordinator openings, driven by the density of large hospital networks. Ann Arbor is a strong secondary market due to Michigan Medicine and a university-affiliated healthcare ecosystem. Grand Rapids has grown significantly following Corewell Health's regional expansion. Lansing and Flint also have sponsoring employers, though with lower overall volume.
How to find patient service coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for patient service coordinator roles in Michigan without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform indexes openings from Michigan health systems and medical groups that have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually vetting each employer's sponsorship policy.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for patient service coordinators in Michigan?
Michigan's healthcare sector is anchored by large nonprofit academic medical centers, which are often cap-exempt employers for H-1B purposes, meaning they can file petitions outside the annual lottery. This matters for patient service coordinators because cap-exempt filing allows year-round submission rather than waiting for the April lottery window. Michigan also has active healthcare workforce shortages in its rural Upper Peninsula and mid-state regions, which can increase sponsorship willingness at smaller regional health systems.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored patient service coordinator jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
