Which companies sponsor visas for program analysts in Michigan?
Large Michigan employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for analytical roles include General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Stellantis, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Henry Ford Health System, and the University of Michigan. State government agencies and defense contractors such as Leidos and SAIC also hire program analysts, though sponsorship availability varies by contract type and role classification.
Which visa types are most common for program analyst roles in Michigan?
The H-1B visa is the most common sponsorship pathway for program analysts in Michigan, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like business, information systems, or computer science. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT through Michigan universities such as the University of Michigan or Michigan State University sometimes transition directly into H-1B sponsorship with their employer.
Which cities in Michigan have the most program analyst sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its broader metro area, including Dearborn and Troy, account for the largest share of program analyst openings in Michigan, driven by automotive industry headquarters and major health systems. Lansing sees consistent demand from state government agencies and insurance sector employers. Ann Arbor attracts technology-focused program analyst roles, partly due to the University of Michigan's research infrastructure and its affiliated startups and tech firms.
How to find program analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse program analyst roles in Michigan without manually screening out positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by city, industry, and employer type to focus on Michigan's automotive, healthcare, and government sectors, which represent the strongest sponsorship pipelines for this role in the state.
Are there any Michigan-specific considerations for program analysts seeking visa sponsorship?
Michigan's concentration of automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers means many program analyst roles involve systems analysis tied to manufacturing operations or enterprise software, which can affect how employers classify the position for H-1B purposes. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Lansing metropolitan areas, which differ from national averages. University of Michigan and Michigan State University pipelines also mean strong OPT-to-H-1B conversion activity in the Ann Arbor and East Lansing areas.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program analyst jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
