Which companies sponsor visas for program supervisors in Michigan?
Michigan's largest visa-sponsoring employers for program supervisor roles include major health systems such as Henry Ford Health, Beaumont Health, and Michigan Medicine, as well as universities like the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. State government agencies and large nonprofits in Detroit and Grand Rapids also have documented sponsorship histories, particularly for candidates with specialized degrees in healthcare administration, social work, or education.
Which visa types are most common for program supervisor roles in Michigan?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for program supervisor positions in Michigan, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as public health, education, or social services. Some university-affiliated employers also utilize J-1 visa exchange visitor visas for qualifying supervisory roles. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may explore the TN visa under USMCA if their field aligns with eligible professional categories.
Which cities in Michigan have the most program supervisor sponsorship jobs?
Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Grand Rapids concentrate the largest share of program supervisor sponsorship opportunities in Michigan. Detroit's nonprofit and healthcare sectors generate consistent demand, Ann Arbor's university and research institutions are active H-1B filers, and Grand Rapids hosts a growing healthcare and social services sector. Lansing, as the state capital, also has program supervisor openings within government-affiliated and policy-driven organizations.
How to find program supervisor visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and lets you filter program supervisor roles by state, so you can browse Michigan openings from employers with verified sponsorship activity. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate focuses on positions where visa sponsorship is a realistic option. Searching by role and filtering to Michigan gives you a targeted list of employers actively hiring for program supervisor positions who have sponsored international candidates before.
Are there state-specific considerations for program supervisors seeking visa sponsorship in Michigan?
Michigan employers filing H-1B petitions for program supervisors must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the role and location, which varies between Detroit, Ann Arbor, and smaller metro areas. Program supervisor positions in healthcare or social services sometimes require state licensure or certifications, which employers may factor into sponsorship decisions. Michigan's strong university system also creates a pipeline of program supervisor openings tied to federally funded research and community programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program supervisor jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
