Search Sales Jobs in MichiganSales Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for sales roles in Michigan?
Large Michigan employers with established visa sponsorship programs include Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, Kellogg's, and Dow Inc. Enterprise software and cloud companies with Michigan offices, including SAP and Salesforce, also sponsor sales roles. Sponsorship is most common for technical sales, solutions engineering, and enterprise account management positions where industry-specific expertise is a documented requirement.
Which visa types are most common for sales roles in Michigan?
The H-1B visa is the most frequently used visa for sales professionals in Michigan, particularly for roles requiring a relevant bachelor's degree, such as technical sales engineer or enterprise account executive. The L-1B intracompany transferee visa is another pathway for candidates moving from an international office of a Michigan-headquartered employer like Ford or GM into a U.S.-based sales role.
Which cities in Michigan have the most sales sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its suburbs, including Dearborn, Auburn Hills, and Troy, concentrate the most sales sponsorship opportunities due to the automotive and manufacturing sector headquarters there. Ann Arbor has a strong showing in tech and life sciences sales, driven by the University of Michigan ecosystem. Grand Rapids is a growing hub for medical device and health tech sales roles.
How to find sales visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse sales roles in Michigan without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by city, role type, and visa category to focus on technical sales, account management, or solutions engineering positions at Michigan employers actively hiring international candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for sales visa sponsorship in Michigan?
Michigan's heavy concentration in automotive and manufacturing means many sponsored sales roles require industry-specific knowledge, which strengthens the specialty occupation argument required for H-1B eligibility. Candidates with backgrounds in automotive supply chain, industrial equipment, or enterprise software serving manufacturers are well-positioned. Michigan also has a strong university pipeline through the University of Michigan and Michigan State University that some employers leverage for entry-level sales hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
