Spring Valley Farms is looking for a full-time logistics manager to join our team. The person in this role keeps our products moving safely and on time.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build daily load schedules that line up production, customer orders, and fleet capacity
- Plan routes that cut miles, fuel costs, and delivery times without hurting service
- Track driver hours for DOT Hours of Service compliance, and balance workloads to keep drivers safe and keep them with us
- Have backup plans ready for weather, seasonal swings, equipment downtime, and other disruptions
- Forecast transportation needs, capacity, and costs based on sales trends and growth plans
- Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per mile, and asset utilization, and use them to make decisions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years in logistics or transportation management (agriculture or food distribution preferred)
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service
- Strong analytical skills and experience with Excel
- Clear communication and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Mostly computer-based desk work, sitting up to 6–8 hours a day with multiple monitors
- Extended or flexible hours during peak seasons, harvest, or disruptions, and occasional after-hours phone availability
