Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Product Management – IHC Application is responsible for defining and leading the global portfolio strategy for antibodies supporting tissue-based workflows, including Immunohistochemistry (IHC), chromogenic and fluorescent tissue imaging, and translational pathology research. This role owns the scientific, validation, and portfolio strategy that establishes R&D Systems as the authority in tissue biology, ensuring antibodies deliver superior tissue specificity, reproducibility, and disease relevance. As the portfolio leader for tissue imaging antibodies, this individual defines innovation priorities, validation standards, and portfolio investments, while guiding execution through Product Management resources supporting spatial biology and digital experience. The role partners closely with R&D, Applications, and Commercial teams to ensure the tissue antibody portfolio delivers scientific differentiation and sustainable growth. This position reports to the Head of Target Analysis Business Unit and is based on-site in Minneapolis, MN.
Key Responsibilities
Franchise & Portfolio Strategy:
- Define and lead the global portfolio strategy for tissue imaging antibodies across IHC and tissue biology workflows.
- Establish long-term portfolio vision aligned to disease research, translational pathology, and biomarker discovery trends.
- Translate strategy into roadmap priorities, investment allocation, and lifecycle management frameworks.
- Lead portfolio segmentation across discovery, translational, and clinical research applications.
Validation & Scientific Differentiation:
- Establish validation frameworks and performance standards for tissue imaging antibodies.
- Define criteria for tissue specificity, biomarker selectivity, and reproducibility.
- Prioritize validation investments supporting portfolio differentiation and customer confidence.
Innovation & Portfolio Expansion:
- Identify whitespace opportunities across biomarkers, pathways, and disease segments.
- Guide innovation investments including proprietary clone development and recombinant conversion strategies.
- Define disease-focused panel strategies across oncology, immunology, neuroscience, and inflammation biology.
Business Performance Ownership:
- Own revenue growth, portfolio mix, and margin performance across tissue imaging antibodies.
- Define KPIs spanning adoption, validation coverage, and disease panel penetration.
- Monitor portfolio risks, gaps, and growth opportunities and drive corrective action.
Go-To-Market & Commercial Execution:
- Own Tissue Biology Antibody portfolio GTM success across all channels (digital, direct sales, partners).
- Define pricing strategy, value positioning, and promotional priorities aligned to customer decision drivers.
- Support customer adoption through application notes, and scientific storytelling.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences required; PhD strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of Product Management or portfolio leadership experience in research reagents or antibodies.
- Deep expertise in tissue imaging workflows (IHC, IF, pathology, tissue biology).
- Experience leading Product Management resources in a matrixed environment (direct or indirect reporting).
- Demonstrated success leading portfolio strategy and innovation roadmaps.
- Experience influencing R&D investment and cross-functional priorities.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
