Which construction companies in Missouri sponsor visas most frequently?
Major Missouri-based construction companies that commonly sponsor visas include McCarthy Building Companies (St. Louis), JE Dunn Construction (Kansas City), Clayco (Overland), and S.M. Wilson & Co. (Granite City). These firms frequently hire international talent for project management, structural engineering, and specialized trade positions, particularly for large commercial and infrastructure projects across Missouri's metropolitan regions.
What are the most common visa types for construction jobs in Missouri?
H-1B visas are most common for construction engineering, project management, and architectural roles requiring bachelor's degrees. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican architects and engineers. L-1 visas are used when international construction firms transfer employees to Missouri projects. EB-3 green cards are available for skilled trades and construction workers, though processing times are longer.

The platform filters opportunities by state and industry, showing current openings in St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, and other Missouri markets. What should I know about prevailing wages for construction roles in Missouri?
Missouri's prevailing wages for construction vary significantly by region, with St. Louis and Kansas City commanding higher rates than rural areas. The Department of Labor sets different wage levels for metropolitan statistical areas, affecting H-1B applications. Construction engineering and project management roles typically meet prevailing wage requirements more easily than entry-level positions in Missouri's competitive market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction jobs in Missouri?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
