Top 1% Farmers Insurance agency is growing and looking for motivated, outgoing, and career-driven individuals to join our team as future Insurance Agents. This opportunity is designed for people who want to build a career in insurance sales but may not yet have industry experience or licenses.
All new team members begin in a Sales Development Representative (SDR) role while studying to become a licensed and appointed Insurance Agent. The SDR position is a short-term training and development role that allows you to learn the business, gain sales experience, and determine if the insurance industry is the right fit for you before fully transitioning into an agent position.
No prior insurance experience required — we train the right people.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
How the Career Path Works
Step 1: Start as a Sales Development Representative (SDR)
As an SDR, you’ll:
- Learn the insurance industry and agency operations
- Follow up with warm leads provided by the agency
- Build relationships with prospective customers
- Develop sales and communication skills
- Schedule appointments and support the sales team
- Study for your insurance licenses with agency-paid training
This phase is designed to help you:
- Gain confidence in sales
- Learn the business firsthand
- Decide if a long-term insurance career is right for you
Step 2: Transition into a Licensed Insurance Agent
Once licensed and appointed, you’ll:
- Sell auto, home, life, business, and specialty insurance products
- Provide customized insurance solutions for clients
- Build and manage your own book of business
- Earn commission and bonus opportunities
- Grow into a long-term sales and financial services career
Responsibilities During SDR Training Phase
- Respond to and follow up with agency-generated leads
- Make outbound calls to prospective customers
- Build rapport and identify customer needs
- Set appointments for licensed agents
- Maintain accurate records in the agency CRM
- Participate in team meetings and sales training
As a Licensed Insurance Agent:
- Solicit, present, and sell insurance products from Farmers Insurance and other carriers
- Build relationships with individuals, families, and business owners
- Generate referrals and community marketing opportunities
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Meet and exceed sales goals

PAY
Pay: $63,441.77 - $74,359.99 per year
