Which companies sponsor visas for physician assistants in Montana?
The largest sponsoring employers for physician assistants in Montana are regional health systems, including Billings Clinic, SCL Health (now Intermountain Health), and Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. Critical Access Hospitals across rural Montana, such as Bozeman Health and Kalispell Regional Medical Center, also hire PAs and have sponsored work visas to fill persistent clinical staffing gaps.
Which visa types are most common for physician assistant roles in Montana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for physician assistants in Montana, as the PA role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a master's degree. Some employers in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas also support J-1 waiver positions, which allow international medical professionals to fulfill service obligations in underserved Montana communities in exchange for immigration relief.
Which cities in Montana have the most physician assistant sponsorship jobs?
Billings sees the highest concentration of physician assistant sponsorship opportunities, driven by Billings Clinic and its affiliated network. Missoula and Great Falls follow, anchored by their respective regional medical centers. Bozeman is a growing market as Bozeman Health expands its outpatient services. Rural areas across the state also post PA openings, particularly in counties with physician shortage designations.
How to find physician assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find physician assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Montana. The platform filters specifically for roles where employers have a documented history of sponsoring work visas, so you're not wasting time on listings that won't support international candidates. Search for physician assistant roles filtered to Montana to see current openings from health systems and rural clinics actively hiring.
Are there state-specific considerations for physician assistants seeking sponsorship in Montana?
Montana's large number of federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas and Medically Underserved Areas creates real demand for PAs, which strengthens the sponsorship case employers must make to USCIS. The University of Montana and Rocky Mountain College do not currently have PA programs, so Montana health systems often recruit nationally and internationally. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the Montana metropolitan statistical area where the role is based.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physician assistant jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
