Which companies sponsor visas for human resources assistants in Nebraska?
Larger employers in Nebraska are the most consistent sponsors for human resources assistant roles. Companies like Mutual of Omaha, Union Pacific, Sandhills Global, and major healthcare systems such as CHI Health and Nebraska Medicine have documented H-1B visa filing histories. University of Nebraska campuses also sponsor HR positions. Smaller businesses and local nonprofits rarely have the infrastructure to support visa sponsorship for this role.
Which visa types are most common for human resources assistant roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa for human resources assistant positions in Nebraska, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field. Some employers also sponsor TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals under the USMCA professional category. OPT and STEM OPT are commonly used by recent graduates before transitioning to employer-sponsored status.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most human resources assistant sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the majority of human resources assistant sponsorship opportunities in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 companies, large healthcare networks, and financial services firms. Lincoln is the second-largest market, supported by state government agencies, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a growing technology sector. Smaller cities like Grand Island and Kearney have limited sponsorship activity for this role.
How to find human resources assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is specifically designed to help international job seekers find human resources assistant roles in Nebraska where employers are open to visa sponsorship. You can filter by state and job category to surface relevant postings from employers with sponsorship history. This saves significant time compared to manually checking individual company career pages to determine whether HR assistant roles include sponsorship support.
Are there state-specific considerations for human resources assistant visa sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska employers sponsoring H-1B workers for human resources assistant roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Omaha or Lincoln metro areas, which are tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The University of Nebraska system, as a cap-exempt institution, can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery window, making university HR roles a distinct pathway for international candidates who missed the regular cap.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored human resources assistant jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
