Which technology companies sponsor H-1B visas in Nevada?
Several Nevada-based employers have a documented history of H-1B visa sponsorship in technology. Switch, the Las Vegas-based data center company, regularly files for software and infrastructure roles. MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment sponsor technology professionals in software engineering and data analytics. Smaller consulting firms and government contractors in the Las Vegas metro also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data for H-1B filings.
Which cities in Nevada have the most technology H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas accounts for the majority of Nevada's H-1B technology sponsorship activity, driven by its large hospitality technology sector, data center industry, and growing startup community. Reno is the second most active market, with technology employers concentrated around the Tesla Gigafactory corridor and regional logistics operations. Henderson and North Las Vegas also have technology employers, though at lower volumes than the Las Vegas metro.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Nevada?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field are most likely to qualify as H-1B specialty occupations. In Nevada, commonly sponsored titles include software engineer, data engineer, cybersecurity analyst, systems architect, and database administrator. Roles tied to gaming technology platforms, cloud infrastructure, and data center operations are particularly active given the state's industry composition. General IT support roles without a degree requirement typically do not qualify.
How do I find technology H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters technology jobs in Nevada by H-1B sponsorship history, so you're not applying to employers who have never sponsored before. You can search by city, role type, and visa category to find positions where sponsorship is a realistic option. Reviewing DOL LCA disclosure data alongside your Migrate Mate search gives you additional context on which Nevada employers file most frequently for technology workers.
Are there any Nevada-specific considerations for H-1B technology sponsorship?
Nevada has no state income tax, which affects total compensation calculations but does not change H-1B prevailing wage requirements. Employers must still meet DOL wage levels for the specific role and geographic area, using the Las Vegas or Reno metropolitan statistical area as the prevailing wage benchmark. Nevada's technology sector is relatively smaller than California or Texas, so the pool of active H-1B sponsors is more concentrated, making employer research before applying particularly important.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B technology jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
