Which companies sponsor visas for physicians in Nevada?
Nevada's largest physician employers with documented sponsorship history include Intermountain Health (formerly HealthCare Partners Nevada), Renown Health in Reno, University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, and the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System. Federally operated facilities like VA hospitals are cap-exempt for H-1B visa purposes, which can simplify the sponsorship process for eligible physicians.
Which visa types are most common for physician roles in Nevada?
Physicians in Nevada most commonly work on H-1B visas, J-1 visa Conrad 30 waivers, or O-1 visas. Nevada participates in the Conrad 30 waiver program, allowing J-1 physicians who complete primary care or specialty training to remain in the U.S. by committing to practice in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area for at least three years.
Which cities in Nevada have the most physician sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas accounts for the majority of physician sponsorship positions in Nevada, driven by its large hospital networks and rapid population growth. Reno is the second most active market, anchored by Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Rural areas across Clark, Washoe, and Elko counties also post sponsored positions due to HPSA shortage designations.
How to find physician visa sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate filters physician job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search Nevada roles without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform covers health systems, federally qualified health centers, and VA-affiliated employers across Las Vegas, Reno, and rural Nevada counties. Filtering by specialty within Migrate Mate helps narrow results to your area of practice.
Are there state-specific considerations for physician sponsorship in Nevada?
Nevada's designation of numerous counties as Health Professional Shortage Areas affects both Conrad 30 waiver eligibility and employer urgency to sponsor. Physicians should verify Nevada medical license requirements separately, as licensure is a prerequisite before any employer can complete sponsorship paperwork. The University of Nevada, Reno and UNLV both produce residents who sometimes transition into sponsored attending positions locally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physician jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
