Search Program Coordinator Jobs in NevadaProgram Coordinator Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for program coordinators in Nevada?
Universities are the most consistent sponsors, with UNLV and the University of Nevada Reno regularly filing H-1B petitions for program coordinator roles in research, student services, and academic affairs. Large hospitality employers like MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment also sponsor coordinators in training and operations programs. Healthcare systems including Renown Health and Valley Health System round out the main sponsoring employers in the state.
Which visa types are most common for program coordinator roles in Nevada?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program coordinator positions in Nevada, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as public health, education, communications, or business administration. University employers may also support J-1 exchange visitor status for certain program roles. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN status if the coordinator role fits an eligible TN occupational category.
How to find program coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse program coordinator openings in Nevada without sifting through roles that don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city and industry to focus on higher education, healthcare, or hospitality sectors where Nevada sponsorship activity is highest. Migrate Mate's listings reflect employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas.
Which cities in Nevada have the most program coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas is the primary market, driven by its concentration of universities, large hospital networks, nonprofit organizations, and the headquarters of major hospitality companies. Reno is the second most active city, anchored by the University of Nevada Reno and a growing technology and logistics sector. Henderson and North Las Vegas occasionally have openings through healthcare and government-adjacent organizations, though volume is significantly lower than the two main metros.
Are there any Nevada-specific considerations for program coordinators seeking visa sponsorship?
Nevada's economy is heavily weighted toward hospitality and gaming, so program coordinator roles at casino resorts often involve training coordination or guest experience programs rather than traditional academic or nonprofit structures. Employers sponsoring H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific role and location, which differs between Las Vegas and Reno. UNLV and UNR are cap-exempt H-1B employers, meaning they can file petitions year-round without waiting for the annual lottery.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program coordinator jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
