Which companies sponsor visas for operations interns in New Hampshire?
BAE Systems in Nashua, Dartmouth Health in Lebanon, and Segra International are among the employers in New Hampshire with structured internship programs that have supported international candidates through OPT and CPT work authorization. Larger defense contractors and healthcare systems in the state are generally more experienced with sponsorship paperwork than smaller local businesses, though sponsorship is never guaranteed for any intern position.
Which visa types are most common for operations intern roles in New Hampshire?
Most international operations interns in New Hampshire work under F-1 OPT or CPT, which allows students enrolled at U.S. universities to gain practical work experience related to their field of study. Some candidates on J-1 visa exchange visitor programs also fill intern roles, typically through authorized exchange program sponsors. H-1B visa sponsorship for internship-level roles is uncommon, as it requires a full-time specialty occupation and is subject to the annual cap and lottery.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most operations intern sponsorship jobs?
Manchester is the largest city in New Hampshire and has the highest concentration of operations internship opportunities, particularly in financial services, logistics, and technology. Nashua follows closely, driven by its defense and advanced manufacturing sector anchored by employers like BAE Systems. Portsmouth and the broader Seacoast area also generate operations intern postings in healthcare and professional services. Hanover and Durham attract candidates tied to Dartmouth and UNH campuses respectively.
How to find operations intern visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters operations intern roles in New Hampshire by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through listings that won't consider international candidates. Beyond using Migrate Mate, reaching out directly to university career offices at UNH and Southern New Hampshire University is worthwhile, as both have employer relationships with local companies experienced in OPT and CPT hiring for operations-focused internships.
Are there state-specific considerations for operations intern visa sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire has no state income tax on wages, which can affect net compensation comparisons between internship offers. The state's proximity to the Boston metro means some employers list New Hampshire roles but draw on a regional talent pipeline that includes international students from Massachusetts institutions. Operations intern roles in defense-adjacent companies like those in Nashua's high-tech corridor may require background checks or security clearance eligibility, which can affect international candidates who are not permanent residents or citizens.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations intern jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
