Which technology companies sponsor E-3 visas in New Jersey?
New Jersey has a strong mix of large enterprises and consulting firms that sponsor E-3 visas for technology roles. Companies like Cognizant, Conduent, and Infosys have substantial New Jersey operations and regularly hire international workers. Financial services firms in Jersey City, including those in fintech and trading infrastructure, also sponsor E-3 applications for software engineers and data specialists. Pharmaceutical technology teams at companies like Johnson & Johnson and Merck are additional active sponsors.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most technology E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City and Newark have the highest concentration of technology E-3 roles, largely because of their proximity to New York City and established financial and enterprise technology sectors. Princeton and the Route 1 corridor between New Brunswick and Trenton are also significant hubs, home to pharmaceutical R&D technology teams and major consulting offices. Parsippany and Iselin have notable IT services and software development employer presence as well.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in New Jersey?
Roles that qualify must meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning they require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field. In New Jersey, commonly sponsored titles include software engineer, data engineer, cloud architect, cybersecurity analyst, systems analyst, and DevOps engineer. Roles in pharmaceutical informatics, financial technology development, and enterprise IT are also well-represented. The key requirement is that the position genuinely demands a relevant technical degree, not just that a degree is preferred.
How do I find technology E-3 sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find technology E-3 sponsorship jobs in New Jersey, since the platform filters specifically for employers willing to sponsor E-3 visas rather than requiring you to manually screen general job postings. You can browse roles by state and industry to surface New Jersey technology positions from companies with a history of E-3 sponsorship. This saves time compared to filtering through general job boards where sponsorship willingness is rarely stated upfront.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for technology E-3 sponsorship?
New Jersey does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal E-3 rules, but a few practical factors matter. The state's high concentration of consulting and IT services firms means some roles are project-based placements rather than direct employment, which can affect how the Labor Condition Application is structured. Additionally, if a role is fully remote but the employer is based in New Jersey, the worksite location on the LCA needs to accurately reflect where you will actually perform the work.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 technology jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
