Search Investment Management Jobs in New JerseyInvestment Management Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
Which investment management companies in New Jersey sponsor Green Card visas?
Several major firms with significant New Jersey operations have sponsored Green Cards for investment management professionals, including Prudential Financial, Lord Abbett, Invesco, and Pershing. Larger asset managers and custodial firms tend to have established immigration programs and in-house counsel to support the process, whereas smaller boutique funds may sponsor selectively depending on the role and candidate.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most investment management Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City is the most concentrated hub, sitting directly across from Lower Manhattan and home to back-office and middle-office operations for numerous global asset managers and banks. Newark is a second key market, with Prudential Financial headquartered there. The Route 1 corridor between Princeton and New Brunswick also hosts quantitative research and financial technology teams tied to asset management firms.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in New Jersey?
Roles that consistently attract Green Card sponsorship include portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, risk analysts, fixed income researchers, and compliance officers. These positions typically require advanced degrees in finance, economics, mathematics, or engineering, which supports EB-2 and EB-3 classification. Technology roles embedded within investment management firms, such as financial data engineers and systems architects, also regularly receive sponsorship.
How do I find investment management Green Card sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by New Jersey, the investment and asset management industry, and Green Card sponsorship to surface roles where employers have an active history of sponsoring permanent residency. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to firms that may not sponsor, letting you focus on opportunities where sponsorship is already part of the hiring conversation.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in investment management?
New Jersey's proximity to New York City means many firms operate across both states, and your Green Card petition is typically tied to the work location listed in the PERM labor certification. If your role involves a New Jersey office, the employer files the PERM based on that state's prevailing wage data, which differs from New York City rates. Candidates should confirm their designated work location with the employer before the process begins.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card investment management jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
