Which consulting companies sponsor H-1B1 visas in New Jersey?
The Big Four accounting and consulting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, all have New Jersey offices and have filed H-1B1 Labor Condition Applications. Accenture, Cognizant, and Infosys also maintain a presence in the state and appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as H-1B1 sponsors. Boutique management and IT consulting firms along the Route 1 corridor are additional sources of sponsorship, though their filing volumes are smaller.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most consulting H-1B1 sponsorship jobs?
Newark, Parsippany, Princeton, and Iselin are among the most active locations for consulting H-1B1 roles in New Jersey. Newark benefits from its proximity to major financial institutions and corporate headquarters. The Route 1 corridor between Princeton and Edison is particularly dense with management consulting and IT services firms. Parsippany hosts regional offices for several national consulting companies, generating consistent LCA filings.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for H-1B1 sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify as specialty occupations include management consultant, IT consultant, financial consultant, systems analyst, and business analyst positions that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the job. Roles where any general degree satisfies the requirement, regardless of field, face more scrutiny during the H-1B1 adjudication process. Job descriptions that specify a required degree in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, finance, or engineering, are better positioned for approval.
How do I find consulting H-1B1 sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa-sponsored roles and lets you filter by visa type, state, and industry, so you can browse consulting H-1B1 jobs in New Jersey directly. Because H-1B1 sponsorship is less commonly advertised than H-1B, filtering by visa type on a dedicated platform like Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have actively filed LCAs for this category, saving significant research time.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B1 sponsorship in New Jersey consulting?
New Jersey imposes its own state income tax obligations, which consulting employers factor into prevailing wage compliance since the H-1B1 requires the employer to pay at least the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the role and location. New Jersey's consulting market is closely tied to financial services clients in the tri-state area, meaning demand for compliance, risk, and fintech consulting roles tends to be stronger here than in states without that industry concentration. Employers must file a certified LCA before the visa application proceeds.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 consulting jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
