Which companies sponsor visas for project coordinators in New York?
Large employers with consistent H-1B visa sponsorship histories in New York include JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Google, Amazon, Deloitte, and NBCUniversal. Construction and real estate firms like Turner Construction and CBRE also sponsor project coordinators. Sponsorship tends to be more common at enterprise-scale organizations with dedicated HR and immigration support infrastructure than at smaller firms.
Which visa types are most common for project coordinator roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project coordinators in New York, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field like business, engineering, or information systems. Candidates already holding L-1B or TN visa status may also find coordinator roles that fit their existing authorization. USCIS evaluates each role individually, so job title alone does not guarantee eligibility.
Which cities in New York have the most project coordinator sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the overwhelming majority of project coordinator sponsorship jobs in the state, particularly in Manhattan's finance, media, and tech sectors and in Brooklyn's growing healthcare and construction industries. Albany has openings tied to state government contractors and healthcare systems. Buffalo has seen growth in coordinator roles linked to semiconductor and clean energy projects following recent federal infrastructure investment.
How to find project coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify project coordinator openings in New York without manually screening hundreds of postings. You can narrow results by location, industry, and visa type. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in standard job ads, using a platform built for international candidates like Migrate Mate saves significant time in your search.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for project coordinators seeking visa sponsorship?
New York employers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements tied to the specific metropolitan area, which means posted wages for project coordinators in New York City are typically set against high local benchmarks. New York's concentration of large multinationals also means many sponsoring employers require prior U.S. work authorization experience or advanced degrees. University graduates from programs at NYU, Columbia, and Cornell are common entry points into sponsored coordinator pipelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project coordinator jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
