Which companies sponsor visas for project coordinators in Oklahoma?
Energy companies are the most active sponsors, including Williams Companies, Devon Energy, and Enable Midstream in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Aerospace and defense contractors such as Boeing, L3Harris, and AAR Corp also hire project coordinators and have sponsored H-1B visa workers historically. Larger healthcare systems like INTEGRIS Health and OU Health round out the field, particularly for coordinators managing clinical or facilities projects.
Which visa types are most common for project coordinator roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project coordinator roles in Oklahoma, provided the position requires a specific bachelor's degree in a field like engineering, business, or information systems. Employers in aerospace and energy also use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering-adjacent roles. Some university-affiliated positions support J-1 visa or OPT extensions for recent graduates already in the U.S.
How to find project coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by sponsorship willingness and role type, making it straightforward to search project coordinator openings in Oklahoma without sorting through positions that won't support a visa. Focus your search on Tulsa and Oklahoma City, and filter by energy, aerospace, and construction sectors where Oklahoma employers have the strongest sponsorship track records for this role.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most project coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the overwhelming majority of project coordinator sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City's concentration of energy companies, federal agencies, and healthcare systems drives demand, while Tulsa's aerospace and manufacturing base, anchored by the Tulsa International Airport MRO corridor, generates additional openings. Norman sees some activity tied to the University of Oklahoma and its affiliated research and construction projects.
Are there state-specific considerations for project coordinator visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's energy sector dominates the local economy, so project coordinator roles here frequently require familiarity with oil and gas operations, pipeline projects, or industrial construction, which can strengthen a sponsorship case by demonstrating specialized need. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for project coordinators in Oklahoma reflect regional rates, which are generally lower than coastal metros, making sponsorship somewhat more straightforward administratively for employers managing wage compliance.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project coordinator jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
