Which companies sponsor visas for project coordinators in Massachusetts?
Employers with established sponsorship track records for project coordinators in Massachusetts include major healthcare systems like Mass General Brigham and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, life sciences firms like Biogen and Moderna, large construction and engineering companies like Suffolk Construction and AECOM, and universities including MIT, Harvard, and Boston University, all of which operate substantial project management functions.
Which visa types are most common for project coordinator roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project coordinators in Massachusetts, particularly where the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as engineering, information systems, or business. Some coordinators in IT or consulting also enter on L-1B intracompany transfer visas. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category if the role meets the relevant occupation criteria.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most project coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston, including Cambridge and Somerville, accounts for the largest share of project coordinator sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts, driven by its concentration of biotech, healthcare, and higher education employers. Worcester is a secondary hub with hospital systems and manufacturing firms. Springfield and Lowell also see demand from construction and infrastructure-focused employers, though at lower volumes than the Boston metro area.
How to find project coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse project coordinator roles in Massachusetts without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces openings across biotech, healthcare, construction, and higher education employers in the Greater Boston area and beyond, which are the industries most likely to have active sponsorship pipelines for this role.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for project coordinators?
Massachusetts is a prevailing wage state with a strong union presence in construction, which can affect how employers structure project coordinator compensation and LCA filings for H-1B purposes. The state's dense university ecosystem also creates a notable pipeline of F-1 OPT holders moving into project coordinator roles, meaning many Massachusetts employers already have internal processes for sponsoring international candidates into H-1B status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project coordinator jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
