Which companies sponsor visas for project coordinators in Tennessee?
Healthcare organizations are among the most active sponsors for project coordinator roles in Tennessee. HCA Healthcare, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Community Health Systems are notable examples. Large logistics and manufacturing employers in Memphis, including FedEx and International Paper, also have established sponsorship track records. Technology and engineering firms in Nashville and Chattanooga round out the field, though sponsorship availability varies by department and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for project coordinator roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project coordinators in Tennessee, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, information systems, or engineering. Some positions in healthcare or research settings may also be supported through TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, or L-1 visa transfers for candidates moving from an overseas office of a U.S.-based employer.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most project coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads the state by a significant margin, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, corporate headquarters, and a growing technology sector. Memphis is the second-strongest market, particularly for project coordinators in supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing. Chattanooga has emerged as a smaller but active hub for infrastructure and advanced manufacturing project roles, supported in part by Volkswagen's local operations and a broadband-forward business environment.
How to find project coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles, and you can filter directly by state to browse project coordinator openings in Tennessee. Because sponsorship availability is not always disclosed in standard job postings, using a platform that curates sponsored roles saves significant time. Focus your search on Nashville and Memphis, and prioritize employers in healthcare and logistics, which have historically sponsored project management positions at higher rates in this state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for project coordinators pursuing sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since total compensation structures can differ from states with higher tax burdens. For H-1B purposes, the Department of Labor sets prevailing wages by metropolitan area, so Nashville, Memphis, and Chattanooga each have distinct wage thresholds for project coordinator classifications. Candidates should also note that Tennessee's strong university system, including Vanderbilt and the University of Tennessee, creates a pipeline that some employers prefer for entry-level coordinator roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project coordinator jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
