Which companies sponsor visas for project coordinators in Oregon?
Intel is one of Oregon's largest H-1B sponsors and regularly hires project coordinators across its Hillsboro campuses. Nike, based in Beaverton, also files sponsorship petitions for coordination roles tied to product development and operations. Other active sponsors include Providence Health, OHSU, and mid-size technology firms concentrated in the Portland metro area. Sponsorship patterns can vary year to year, so verifying recent filings through DOL disclosure data is worthwhile.
Which visa types are most common for project coordinator roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project coordinator positions in Oregon, particularly at technology and manufacturing employers. It requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is generally expected. Some coordinators already working in Oregon on OPT or STEM OPT may transition to H-1B through their employer. The TN visa applies only to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations.
Which cities in Oregon have the most project coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the broader metro area, including Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the majority of project coordinator sponsorship activity in Oregon. Intel's presence in Washington County alone drives significant hiring volume. Eugene has some activity tied to the University of Oregon and regional healthcare systems. Outside the metro corridor, sponsorship opportunities become considerably less frequent, so most international candidates focus their search on the Portland area.
How to find project coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify project coordinator openings in Oregon where employers are actively willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through postings that don't mention sponsorship, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from companies with documented sponsorship history. Filtering by Oregon and the project coordinator role gives you a focused list of relevant opportunities without the guesswork of cold-applying to employers who may not sponsor.
Are there state-specific considerations for project coordinators seeking sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon follows federal prevailing wage requirements, so employers sponsoring H-1B project coordinators must pay the DOL-determined wage for the role and geographic area. Portland and Hillsboro have distinct wage determinations that reflect higher local costs compared to rural Oregon. Candidates with backgrounds in semiconductor operations, healthcare systems, or supply chain management align well with Oregon's dominant industries. OHSU and Oregon Health and Science University also sponsor international staff in coordination roles tied to research and clinical operations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project coordinator jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
