Which companies sponsor visas for recruiters in New York?
Large corporations with significant New York operations are the most active sponsors for recruiter roles. Companies including Amazon, Google, Meta, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Deloitte, and PricewaterhouseCoopers have historically filed H-1B visa petitions for talent acquisition and recruiting positions. Staffing firms and executive search companies headquartered in New York City, such as Korn Ferry and Spencer Stuart, also sponsor international recruiters on a regular basis.
Which visa types are most common for recruiter roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for recruiter positions in New York, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, psychology, or a related field. The O-1A is an option for recruiters with demonstrated extraordinary achievement in their profession. Some multinational firms also use the L-1B for intracompany transfers into New York-based talent acquisition roles.
Which cities in New York have the most recruiter sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the overwhelming majority of recruiter visa sponsorship jobs in the state, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, financial institutions, consulting firms, and tech offices. Buffalo and Albany see smaller but steady demand, particularly in healthcare systems and state government contractors. Recruiters targeting sponsorship are most likely to find opportunities concentrated in Manhattan and the broader NYC metro area.
How to find recruiter visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is a job board specifically built for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and it filters recruiter roles by state so you can browse New York opportunities directly. Beyond the platform, targeting employers with established HR infrastructure, large headcounts, and prior H-1B filing histories in New York gives you the strongest starting point. Migrate Mate surfaces those employers so you are not sorting through listings from companies unlikely to sponsor.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for recruiter visa sponsorship roles?
New York City's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules tend to be higher than national averages, which means employers must pay certified wage levels that reflect the competitive NYC labor market. Recruiter roles in financial services and consulting often require specialized industry knowledge, which can strengthen a specialty occupation argument for H-1B eligibility. New York's large university network, including Columbia, Cornell, and NYU, also creates a pipeline of international graduates entering HR and talent acquisition fields.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored recruiter jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
