Which companies sponsor visas for strategy business operations roles in New York?
Large employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors. In New York, that includes financial institutions like Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and JPMorgan Chase, tech companies like Google and Amazon with significant New York offices, and management consulting firms like McKinsey, BCG, and Deloitte. These organizations have dedicated HR and legal teams that handle H-1B visa and other work visa filings routinely for strategy and operations hires.
Which visa types are most common for strategy business operations roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy business operations professionals in New York, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, economics, engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates with extraordinary achievements may also qualify for the O-1A. Some roles at multinational firms may support L-1A or L-1B transfers for employees moving from an overseas office to a New York position.
Which cities in New York have the most strategy business operations sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the overwhelming majority of strategy business operations sponsorship opportunities in the state. Manhattan, particularly Midtown and the Financial District, concentrates the most employers in finance, consulting, and technology. Brooklyn's growing tech scene adds some volume, and firms with regional headquarters in Buffalo or Albany occasionally post these roles, but for visa sponsorship specifically, New York City is by far the dominant market.
How to find strategy business operations visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship jobs in the U.S., with filters for role type and state so you can browse strategy business operations openings in New York directly. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories, which saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking about sponsorship later. Filtering by New York on Migrate Mate gives you a focused view of where sponsorship is realistically available for this role type.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for strategy business operations visa sponsorship candidates?
New York's Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements apply to H-1B filings, and given the city's high cost of living, the prevailing wages for strategy and operations roles in the New York metropolitan area are among the highest in the country. Many of New York's top employers in this space recruit directly from MBA programs at Columbia, NYU Stern, and Cornell, so those university pipelines are worth understanding. Candidates should also be aware that New York-based financial services firms may have additional compliance considerations tied to their regulated status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy business operations jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
