Which companies sponsor visas for clinical medical assistants in North Carolina?
North Carolina's largest health systems are the most active visa sponsors for clinical medical assistants. Atrium Health and Novant Health operate extensive clinic networks across Charlotte and the Piedmont region. Duke Health and UNC Health regularly hire clinical support staff in the Triangle area. Large hospital groups and federally qualified health centers also file sponsorship petitions, though not every facility within a system sponsors at the same rate.
Which visa types are most common for clinical medical assistant roles in North Carolina?
H-1B sponsorship is less common for clinical medical assistants because the role does not always meet the specialty occupation threshold requiring a directly related bachelor's degree. Employers more frequently use TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical classifications, or sponsor permanent residence through EB-3 for qualified candidates. Some facilities also work with J-1 exchange visitor programs for internationally trained medical professionals in structured clinical settings.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most clinical medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads in volume due to the scale of Atrium Health and Novant Health's outpatient and urgent care networks. The Research Triangle, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, is a close second given the concentration of academic medical centers and specialist clinics affiliated with Duke and UNC. Greensboro and Winston-Salem also see consistent clinical medical assistant hiring through Cone Health and Wake Forest Baptist Health respectively.
How to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina. The platform filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can focus on North Carolina employers already open to sponsoring international candidates for clinical medical assistant roles rather than sorting through postings that don't address sponsorship at all. Filtering by city lets you narrow to Charlotte, Durham, or Raleigh based on where you want to work.
Are there any state-specific considerations for clinical medical assistants seeking sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina does not require state licensure specifically for clinical medical assistants, but employers commonly prefer or require national certification such as CMA through AAMA or RMA through AMT. Academic medical centers affiliated with Duke, UNC, and Wake Forest generate a consistent pipeline of internationally trained clinical candidates through graduate medical education programs. Prevailing wage requirements under DOL apply to any employer filing a sponsored petition, and compliance is determined by the specific county and metro area where the role is based.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical medical assistant jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
