Which accounting companies sponsor Green Card visas in North Carolina?
Large employers with a sponsorship history in North Carolina include Bank of America and Truist Financial in Charlotte, plus Big Four firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) with offices in Charlotte and Raleigh. Regional employers like Fidelity Investments, Honeywell, and Duke Energy have also filed Green Card petitions for accounting staff. Sponsorship decisions are made case by case and are never guaranteed, even at companies with prior sponsorship records.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte and Raleigh concentrate the majority of accounting Green Card sponsorship activity in North Carolina. Charlotte's financial services industry drives demand for CPAs, auditors, and tax professionals, while the Research Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill) generates opportunities through corporate headquarters and mid-size firms. Greensboro and Winston-Salem have a smaller but active base of regional accounting employers that occasionally sponsor.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in North Carolina?
Roles most commonly sponsored include senior auditors, tax managers, forensic accountants, financial reporting analysts, and controllers. These positions generally require a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field, and many employers expect CPA licensure or progress toward it. Entry-level staff positions are rarely sponsored. Green Card sponsorship typically begins after an employee has worked for an employer for one to two years on a nonimmigrant visa such as H-1B visa or L-1 visa.
How do I find accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate lists accounting roles in North Carolina where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship willingness, making it faster to identify genuine opportunities than searching general job boards. You can filter specifically for accounting positions in cities like Charlotte or Raleigh with Green Card sponsorship. Because sponsorship is employer-specific and role-specific, using a platform focused on immigration-friendly employers saves significant time in your search.
Are there any state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in North Carolina accounting jobs?
North Carolina requires CPAs to be licensed through the NC State Board of CPA Examiners. Employers sponsoring foreign nationals for accounting roles often expect active CPA candidacy or licensure, which can affect your timeline if you're still completing the exam. Additionally, the PERM labor certification process requires employers to demonstrate that no qualified U.S. worker is available, so documented recruitment steps must comply with Department of Labor requirements regardless of which state the job is located in.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card accounting jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
