Which companies sponsor visas for insurance collectors in North Carolina?
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, based in Durham, is one of the state's largest insurance employers and has a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Nationwide, Allstate, and several third-party billing and collections firms with offices in Charlotte and Raleigh also appear in federal LCA disclosure data as sponsors for finance and collections-adjacent roles.
Which visa types are most common for insurance collector roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for insurance collector roles, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as finance, accounting, or business administration. Some employers also use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business or finance classifications. Eligibility depends on how the employer defines and documents the role.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most insurance collector sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads the state for insurance-sector employment, hosting regional offices for major carriers and a dense network of financial services firms. Raleigh and Durham follow closely, anchored by Blue Cross NC's headquarters and a growing fintech and health insurance presence in the Research Triangle. Greensboro also has notable insurance industry activity tied to regional carrier operations.
How to find insurance collector visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find insurance collector roles in North Carolina without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by state and role type to surface opportunities at carriers, billing firms, and collections agencies that have actively sponsored candidates in the past.
Are there state-specific considerations for insurance collector roles and visa sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's insurance industry is regulated by the NC Department of Insurance, and some collector roles require a state-issued license, which international candidates must obtain independently of their visa status. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers must also pay prevailing wages as certified by the Department of Labor, which are benchmarked to the Charlotte and Raleigh metropolitan areas respectively and vary by experience level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored insurance collector jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
