Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for insurance collector roles?
Salt Lake City-based employers with established immigration programs are the most common sponsors for insurance collector positions in Utah. Health systems like Intermountain Healthcare and its insurance subsidiary SelectHealth, along with regional offices of national carriers such as Cigna and UnitedHealth Group, have sponsored work visas for billing and collections professionals. Larger organizations with dedicated HR and legal infrastructure are better positioned to manage sponsorship than smaller independent agencies.
Which visa types are most common for insurance collector jobs in Utah?
H-1B is the most frequently used visa for insurance collector roles when the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT status through Utah universities can begin working before H-1B sponsorship is initiated. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, though insurance collector roles require careful evaluation of whether the specific duties meet TN criteria.
How to find insurance collector visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find insurance collector roles in Utah filtered specifically for visa sponsorship. The platform aggregates sponsorship-eligible positions so you are not manually screening hundreds of listings. Searching by Utah and filtering for insurance collector or related billing and collections titles on Migrate Mate surfaces employers actively open to sponsoring international candidates, saving significant time during a job search.
Which cities in Utah have the most insurance collector sponsorship opportunities?
Salt Lake City accounts for the large majority of insurance-sector employment in Utah, given its concentration of health systems, regional insurance offices, and financial services firms. Provo and Orem, anchored by the Wasatch Front tech and services corridor, also have growing healthcare and fintech employers that handle insurance billing operations. Ogden has a smaller but present share of regional insurance back-office work tied to healthcare providers in Weber County.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for insurance collectors in Utah?
Utah's insurance employment is heavily tied to its healthcare industry, which means insurance collector roles often sit within health systems rather than standalone carriers. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Salt Lake City or relevant metropolitan area, which are published in the DOL's wage library. The University of Utah and Brigham Young University both produce finance and healthcare administration graduates who enter this pipeline, creating some competition for available sponsored positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored insurance collector jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
