Which companies sponsor visas for compliance roles in Ohio?
Ohio's largest visa sponsors for compliance positions include JPMorgan Chase and KeyBank in Columbus and Cleveland, Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, and healthcare networks such as OhioHealth and Cleveland Clinic. Large manufacturers like Procter and Gamble and Sherwin-Williams also hire compliance professionals and have documented H-1B sponsorship histories through Department of Labor disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for compliance roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for compliance professionals in Ohio because these roles, including regulatory affairs specialists, BSA officers, and financial compliance analysts, typically require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Some roles may also qualify under the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, or the L-1 for intracompany transfers.
Which cities in Ohio have the most compliance sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for compliance sponsorship volume, driven by its concentration of financial services headquarters, insurance firms, and state regulatory agencies. Cleveland follows closely, with its strong banking and healthcare sectors generating demand for risk and compliance professionals. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, particularly for compliance roles tied to consumer goods, banking, and pharmaceutical operations.
How to find compliance visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse compliance roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform covers Ohio employers across financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing, which are the three largest sectors hiring compliance professionals in the state. Searching by city such as Columbus or Cleveland helps narrow results to your target market.
Are there any Ohio-specific factors that affect compliance visa sponsorship?
Ohio's compliance hiring is heavily shaped by its regulated industries. The state's large community banking sector, governed by both federal and Ohio Division of Financial Institutions oversight, creates consistent demand for BSA and regulatory compliance professionals. Columbus, as the state capital, also concentrates government-adjacent compliance roles. Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve produce local graduate pipelines, though international candidates typically need employer sponsorship to remain work-authorized after OPT ends.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored compliance jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
