Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for COO roles?
Ohio's largest employers are the most active visa sponsors for senior executive roles. Healthcare organizations like Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, and Nationwide Children's Hospital, financial services firms headquartered in Columbus such as Nationwide Insurance and JPMorgan Chase's Ohio operations, and manufacturing companies including Procter & Gamble and Parker Hannifin have documented histories of sponsoring work visas for senior leadership positions.
Which visa types are most common for COO roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for COO roles, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher. The O-1A is an alternative for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary achievement in their industry. Executives transferring within a multinational company may qualify for an L-1A intracompany transferee visa, which is specifically designed for managers and executives.
Which cities in Ohio have the most COO sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's most active market for executive sponsorship, driven by its concentration of insurance, financial services, and technology sector headquarters. Cleveland follows closely, anchored by its healthcare and professional services industries. Cincinnati's presence of Fortune 500 consumer goods and manufacturing companies also generates meaningful COO-level sponsorship activity. Smaller markets like Dayton and Akron see less frequent executive sponsorship.
How to find coo visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for COO roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Because executive roles are posted and filled quickly, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for COO and senior operations leadership positions in Ohio's key markets, particularly Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, helps candidates stay current on new openings.
Are there state-specific considerations for COO visa sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio has no state-level visa program, so COO candidates rely entirely on federal sponsorship pathways. One practical consideration is Ohio's strong university system, including Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve, which creates executive pipelines that employers often prefer over external international hires. COO candidates should also account for Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which vary by metropolitan area across the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored coo jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
