Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for COO roles?
Large Wisconsin-headquartered employers with established immigration programs include Northwestern Mutual, Johnson Controls, Rockwell Automation, Exact Sciences, and Epic Systems. These companies have the HR infrastructure and legal resources to support H-1B visa sponsorship for senior executive and operations leadership roles. Smaller manufacturers and healthtech firms in the state also sponsor periodically, though less consistently than enterprise-level employers.
Which visa types are most common for COO positions in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for COO roles in Wisconsin, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific specialty field such as business administration, finance, or engineering. The O-1A is an option for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement in their industry. Multinational executives may qualify for the L-1A if transferring from a related overseas entity.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most COO sponsorship opportunities?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for COO-level sponsorship, driven by its concentration of financial services, manufacturing, and insurance companies. Madison follows closely, with growth in biotech, health technology, and university-affiliated enterprises creating demand for operations leadership. Green Bay and Waukesha also have sponsoring employers in manufacturing and distribution, though with lower overall volume than Milwaukee or Madison.
How to find coo visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters COO-level positions in Wisconsin specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving time that would otherwise go toward screening roles that don't support international candidates. You can browse active Wisconsin COO openings on Migrate Mate and filter by industry, city, or visa type. The platform is built for international job seekers navigating the U.S. sponsorship process, so listings are curated with that context in mind.
Are there any state-specific or role-specific considerations for COO visa sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions apply to COO roles the same as any specialty occupation. Because COO is a senior leadership role, employers must document that the position genuinely requires specialized degree-level expertise, not just general management experience. Wisconsin's strong manufacturing and financial services sectors mean many COO roles are tied to operational or technical specializations, which can support the specialty occupation argument during USCIS review.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored coo jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
