Which technology companies sponsor E-3 visas in Ohio?
Ohio's largest technology E-3 visa sponsors tend to be enterprise employers with established immigration programs. Companies like Nationwide Insurance, Progressive, JPMorgan Chase, Accenture, and Deloitte have Ohio offices and documented histories of sponsoring specialty occupation visas. Large healthcare systems such as Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth also sponsor technology roles. Sponsorship willingness varies by role, team, and hiring cycle, so confirming with each employer directly is essential.
Which cities in Ohio have the most technology E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Columbus concentrates the majority of Ohio's technology sponsorship activity, driven by its financial services, insurance, and retail tech sectors. Cleveland has a strong presence in healthtech and manufacturing technology, with major employers clustered near University Circle. Cincinnati's technology market is anchored by companies like Kroger Technology and a growing base of enterprise software firms. Dublin and Westerville, suburbs of Columbus, also host significant corporate technology operations.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for E-3 sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Ohio's technology sector, this commonly includes software engineers, data scientists, cybersecurity analysts, cloud architects, business intelligence developers, and IT project managers. Roles where any general degree is acceptable, regardless of field, are less likely to qualify. The specific job duties and degree requirement matter more than the job title alone.
How do I find technology E-3 sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface technology roles in Ohio where employers have indicated E-3 sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to manually screening job postings for sponsorship eligibility. Because E-3 sponsorship is employer-driven, Migrate Mate focuses on roles from companies with active sponsorship histories in technology, making the Ohio job search more targeted for Australian applicants.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for technology E-3 sponsorship?
Ohio does not impose state-level visa requirements beyond federal E-3 rules, but the state's technology market has some practical implications. Columbus is home to several large insurance and financial services headquarters that run structured graduate and professional hiring programs, which can be more accessible entry points for E-3 applicants. Ohio's cost of living relative to coastal tech hubs can make total compensation packages more competitive. Processing timelines follow standard federal E-3 procedures regardless of the Ohio location.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 technology jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
