Which companies sponsor visas for manufacturing supervisors in Ohio?
Several large manufacturers in Ohio have documented histories of sponsoring work visas, including Honda of America in Marysville, Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati, Whirlpool in Marion, and Timken in Canton. Sponsorship is more common at large multinational manufacturers than at smaller regional plants, and it typically occurs when a candidate has specialized production management expertise that is difficult to source domestically.
Which visa types are most common for manufacturing supervisor roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most widely used visa for manufacturing supervisors in Ohio, but it requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as industrial engineering or manufacturing management is generally expected. The L-1A is another pathway for supervisors transferring from a foreign affiliate of an Ohio-based employer. TN visa status is available for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or management roles.
Which cities in Ohio have the most manufacturing supervisor sponsorship jobs?
Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Toledo are Ohio's strongest markets for manufacturing supervisor roles with visa sponsorship potential. Columbus benefits from Honda's large Marysville and East Liberty operations nearby. Cleveland has a concentration of aerospace and advanced materials manufacturers. Cincinnati anchors consumer goods production through P&G and related suppliers. Toledo has historically been tied to glass manufacturing and automotive assembly.
How to find manufacturing supervisor visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters manufacturing supervisor roles in Ohio by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving significant research time. You can browse current openings, filter by location and role, and identify Ohio employers who have previously sponsored work visas for similar positions. Given Ohio's broad manufacturing base, new sponsorship-eligible roles appear regularly across automotive, aerospace, and industrial sectors.
What should international candidates know about manufacturing supervisor roles and visa sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio manufacturing supervisors sponsored on H-1B visas must be paid at least the prevailing wage for the role and location, as determined by Department of Labor wage data. Employers must file a Labor Condition Application before petitioning USCIS. Candidates with degrees in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations management are better positioned to meet specialty occupation requirements. Ohio's large public universities, including Ohio State and the University of Toledo, also produce engineering graduates who sometimes pursue sponsorship through campus recruiting.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manufacturing supervisor jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
