Which companies sponsor visas for risk analysts in Ohio?
Several large Ohio-headquartered employers have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for risk analyst roles. Nationwide Insurance and Progressive Corporation in Columbus and Mayfield Village respectively are among the most active, along with KeyBank and PNC in Cleveland. JPMorgan Chase and Fifth Third Bank also maintain significant Ohio operations and have sponsored risk analyst positions in the past.
Which visa types are most common for risk analyst roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the primary visa category for risk analysts in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, economics, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify under the TN visa. Those with extraordinary ability or advanced research backgrounds occasionally pursue O-1 visa or EB-1 pathways.
Which cities in Ohio have the most risk analyst sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's dominant hub for risk analyst hiring, driven by its concentration of insurance carriers, banks, and financial services firms. Cleveland follows closely, with a strong presence of commercial banking and investment management employers. Cincinnati also has notable activity through its regional banking sector and corporate finance operations. Smaller markets like Dayton see occasional openings tied to manufacturing and defense contractors.
How to find risk analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters risk analyst jobs in Ohio specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, which saves significant time compared to screening general job postings manually. You can browse active Ohio listings on Migrate Mate and identify employers with documented sponsorship histories. Given the concentration of financial services employers in Columbus and Cleveland, narrowing your search to those cities on Migrate Mate tends to surface the highest volume of relevant openings.
Are there state-specific factors that affect risk analyst visa sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's insurance industry creates a consistent pipeline for risk analyst sponsorship that is somewhat unique compared to coastal markets. The state's major universities, including Ohio State and Case Western Reserve, produce graduates who sometimes transition into sponsored roles. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Columbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati metropolitan statistical areas, which vary by experience level and specific job duties.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored risk analyst jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
