Which companies sponsor visas for solutions architects in Ohio?
Ohio's largest visa-sponsoring employers for solutions architects include Nationwide Insurance, Progressive, Huntington National Bank, Cardinal Health, and Atos. Tech-focused firms like CoverMyMeds and Root Insurance in Columbus also file sponsorships regularly. Manufacturing and logistics companies, particularly around Cincinnati and Cleveland, increasingly hire solutions architects to support digital transformation and cloud migration initiatives.
Which visa types are most common for solutions architect roles in Ohio?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for solutions architects in Ohio, given the role's specialty occupation status requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. L-1A and L-1B visas are also used when candidates transfer from a foreign affiliated office. Employers with federal contracts occasionally support TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technology roles.
Which cities in Ohio have the most solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Columbus accounts for the largest share of solutions architect sponsorship activity in Ohio, driven by its concentration of insurance, fintech, and healthcare IT employers. Cleveland is the second-strongest market, with demand from financial services firms and healthcare networks like University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, with sponsorship activity from consumer goods companies and regional technology service providers.
How to find solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio, with listings filtered specifically by role and sponsorship willingness. Ohio's market is concentrated enough that filtering by Columbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati will surface the most active employers. Reviewing employer H-1B filing history can also help you identify which Ohio companies have a consistent track record of sponsoring solutions architect roles before you apply.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for solutions architects seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio falls under the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements like all other states, but wage levels for solutions architects can vary noticeably between Columbus metro and smaller Ohio markets. Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University produce strong computer science and engineering pipelines, which means some employers already have OPT-to-H-1B sponsorship pathways in place. Candidates from these programs may find smoother entry points with Ohio-based employers familiar with the process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions architect jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
