Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for solutions architects?
Cerner (now Oracle Health) in North Kansas City has historically been one of the largest technology employers in the region sponsoring H-1B visas for solutions architects. Garmin's global headquarters in Olathe, T-Mobile's Kansas City operations, and major healthcare and financial services firms are also active sponsors. Wichita-based aerospace companies like Spirit AeroSystems occasionally sponsor for enterprise architecture roles tied to manufacturing systems.
Which visa types are most common for solutions architect roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is by far the most common pathway for solutions architects in Kansas, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates with prior H-1B approvals elsewhere can transfer to a Kansas-based employer. L-1A and L-1B visas are also used when an international company transfers a solutions architect to a Kansas office.
Which cities in Kansas have the most solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, particularly Overland Park, Lenexa, and North Kansas City, accounts for the overwhelming majority of solutions architect sponsorship activity in the state due to its concentration of technology, healthcare IT, and financial services employers. Wichita offers a secondary market driven by aerospace and manufacturing IT needs, while Topeka sees limited but steady demand from state government contractors and healthcare organizations.
How to find solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters solutions architect roles in Kansas by visa sponsorship status, so you're not sifting through listings that won't support international candidates. Focus your search on the Kansas City metro and filter by employers with a documented H-1B sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces these roles directly, saving significant time compared to manually researching each company's sponsorship track record.
Are there state-specific considerations for solutions architects pursuing visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Employers in Kansas must pay solutions architects at least the prevailing wage set by the Department of Labor for the relevant metropolitan area, with Kansas City and Wichita having different prevailing wage benchmarks. The University of Kansas and Kansas State University produce local computer science graduates, so employers have domestic hiring options, which can affect sponsorship willingness. Candidates with experience in healthcare IT, aerospace systems, or cloud infrastructure have a stronger fit with Kansas's dominant industries.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions architect jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
