Which companies sponsor visas for strategic business development roles in Ohio?
Large Ohio-headquartered employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories in business and strategy roles include Nationwide Insurance, Progressive Corporation, Procter & Gamble (Cincinnati), and KeyBank. Healthcare systems such as Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth also sponsor international professionals in strategic planning and business development functions. Consulting firms and regional offices of multinational corporations operating across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati represent additional sponsorship sources.
Which visa types are most common for strategic business development roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategic business development professionals in Ohio, as these roles typically require at least a bachelor's degree in business, strategy, economics, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. L-1B visas apply when a multinational employer transfers a specialist internally. Candidates with qualifying degrees from Canadian or Australian institutions may also be eligible for TN visa or E-3 visas respectively, depending on employer and role structure.
Which cities in Ohio have the most strategic business development sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for strategic business development sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of insurance, financial services, and tech employers alongside Ohio State University's talent pipeline. Cleveland is strong in healthcare and professional services, anchored by institutions like Cleveland Clinic and global consulting presences. Cincinnati adds significant activity through consumer goods and manufacturing sectors, particularly around companies headquartered in the metro area.
How to find strategic business development visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, letting you search strategic business development roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Because sponsorship willingness isn't always stated in job postings, Migrate Mate's curated approach saves significant research time. Focusing your search on Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, where employer sponsorship activity is highest, will return the most relevant results.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for strategic business development professionals seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio employers filing H-1B petitions for strategic business development roles must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific metropolitan area, which differs across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Ohio's strong university system, including Ohio State, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Cincinnati, means employers are familiar with OPT and STEM OPT pipelines, which can make initial hiring more straightforward before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategic business development jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
