Search Strategy Jobs in OhioStrategy Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for strategy roles in Ohio?
Several large Ohio-headquartered employers have consistent H-1B sponsorship records for strategy positions. Nationwide Insurance, KeyCorp, and Fifth Third Bank sponsor strategy and corporate development roles in Columbus and Cleveland. Procter & Gamble and Kroger sponsor strategy talent in Cincinnati. Major health systems including Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, and Bon Secours Mercy Health also hire internationally for healthcare strategy and planning positions.
Which visa types are most common for strategy roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategy roles in Ohio, as positions like corporate strategist, business development manager, and strategic planning analyst typically require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. International candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT may work in strategy roles before transitioning to H-1B. Those with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN status under the management consultant category.
Which cities in Ohio have the most strategy sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for strategy sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of insurance, financial services, and retail headquarters including Nationwide, L Brands, and Big Lots. Cleveland's corporate base in banking, healthcare, and manufacturing supports strategy hiring at employers like KeyCorp and Cleveland Clinic. Cincinnati is strong for consumer goods and financial strategy roles, anchored by Procter & Gamble and Fifth Third Bank.
How to find strategy visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters strategy roles by state, so you can browse Ohio positions at companies with verified sponsorship history. Searching for titles like corporate strategy analyst, strategic planning manager, or business development associate in Ohio on Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers who have sponsored H-1B workers in similar positions previously.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for strategy professionals seeking sponsorship?
Ohio's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific metro area, so strategy roles in Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati will each have different wage benchmarks. Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve, and University of Cincinnati produce MBA and business graduates who feed into the state's strategy talent pipeline, meaning employers are accustomed to sponsoring international candidates from these programs for entry- and mid-level strategy positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
