Which companies sponsor visas for business development representatives in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's largest visa sponsors for business development roles tend to be energy sector firms such as Devon Energy, Williams Companies, and ONEOK, along with regional technology and SaaS companies headquartered in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Staffing and professional services firms operating statewide also file sponsorship petitions for BDR roles, though sponsorship frequency varies significantly by employer and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for business development representative roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for business development representatives in Oklahoma, provided the role is structured as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa in the Management Consultant category. Australian citizens may also be eligible for the E-3 visa if the role meets specialty occupation standards.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most business development representative sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City accounts for the largest share of BDR sponsorship activity in the state, driven by its concentration of energy companies, financial services firms, and a growing technology sector. Tulsa is the second-largest market, with sponsoring employers primarily in energy services, logistics, and healthcare technology. Smaller markets like Norman and Edmond occasionally have openings tied to university-adjacent tech companies.
How to find business development representative visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters business development representative roles in Oklahoma by visa sponsorship history, so you're not sorting through postings from employers who don't sponsor. The platform focuses on H-1B and other work visa categories, which is especially useful for BDR roles where sponsorship eligibility depends on how the employer defines the position's degree requirements.
What should international candidates know about BDR roles and visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored BDR positions are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific metropolitan area, meaning wages in Oklahoma City and Tulsa are benchmarked separately. Because business development representative titles span a wide range of responsibilities, employers must carefully document that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, which can affect whether they choose to sponsor at all. Candidates with degree-level business or technical credentials are better positioned for sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development representative jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
