Which healthcare companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's largest health systems are the most active sponsors. OU Health and INTEGRIS Health in Oklahoma City, Saint Francis Health System and Ascension St. John in Tulsa, and the Oklahoma State University Medical Center have each supported F-1 STEM OPT workers in technical and clinical-support roles. Smaller specialty clinics and health technology vendors operating in the state also participate, particularly for roles in health informatics and data analytics.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most healthcare F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the vast majority of healthcare F-1 STEM OPT opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City benefits from the OU Health Sciences Center campus and a concentration of state government health agencies. Tulsa's Saint Francis and Hillcrest health systems, along with the OSU Center for Health Sciences, generate consistent demand. Norman and Edmond see smaller but growing volumes tied to regional hospital expansion.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles must fall under a STEM-designated Classification of Instructional Programs code tied to your degree. In healthcare, qualifying positions commonly include biomedical engineer, health informatics analyst, clinical data scientist, bioinformatics specialist, and medical laboratory technician. Roles that are primarily administrative or patient-facing without a technical STEM component, such as general nursing or medical coding, typically do not qualify. Confirm your degree's CIP code with your DSO before accepting an offer.
How do I find healthcare F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and state, making it straightforward to browse healthcare roles in Oklahoma where employers have documented F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship history. Because not every employer openly advertises sponsorship, searching a platform built around verified sponsorship data saves time. Focus your Migrate Mate search on health systems in Oklahoma City and Tulsa and filter for STEM-eligible roles matching your degree's CIP code.
Are there any Oklahoma-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT in healthcare?
Oklahoma requires E-Verify enrollment for all state agency employers and companies contracting with the state, which covers most major public health systems including OU Health. This aligns well with STEM OPT's mandatory E-Verify requirement for sponsoring employers, so those organizations are already compliant. Oklahoma's Certificate of Need regulations limit rapid hospital expansion in some markets, which can affect how quickly new technical roles open at smaller regional facilities outside Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
