Which cities in Oregon have the most healthcare F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the largest share of healthcare F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Oregon, anchored by OHSU's South Waterfront campus and the dense concentration of hospital networks in the metro area. What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
F-1 STEM OPT eligibility requires the role to fall under a USCIS-designated STEM occupational category. In healthcare, roles that commonly qualify include biomedical engineers, clinical data analysts, health informatics specialists, bioinformatics researchers, and medical laboratory scientists. Are there any state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Oregon's healthcare sector?
Oregon's healthcare sector is heavily influenced by its large academic medical infrastructure, particularly OHSU, which operates under federal research funding and has established international hiring pipelines.
