Which companies sponsor visas for nurses in Oklahoma?
The largest visa-sponsoring employers for nurses in Oklahoma include OU Health, Saint Francis Health System, Integris Health, Ascension St. John, and SSM Health St. Anthony. Regional hospital networks and long-term care chains have also filed Labor Condition Applications for international nursing staff. Sponsorship is most active for registered nurses, ICU nurses, and nurses in specialty units where local candidate pipelines run short.
Which visa types are most common for nursing roles in Oklahoma?
Most internationally trained nurses working in Oklahoma hold H-1B or EB-3 visas. The H-1B applies to registered nurses when the role meets specialty occupation requirements, which generally means a BSN or higher is required. The EB-3 immigrant visa is widely used in nursing because it covers skilled workers and has an established pathway through PERM labor certification. Some facilities also work with VisaScreen-certified nurses on TN visas if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most nursing sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the largest share of nursing sponsorship activity in the state, driven by their concentration of major hospital systems and medical centers. Lawton and Norman also have active healthcare employers. Rural hospitals across Oklahoma sometimes offer sponsorship as well, particularly in areas with persistent registered nurse shortages where local recruitment has been difficult.
How to find nursing visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States, including nursing roles in Oklahoma. You can filter directly by state and role to see active openings from employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for nurses. This makes it easier to focus your search on positions where sponsorship is a realistic part of the hiring process rather than spending time on applications where it is not offered.
Are there any state-specific considerations for international nurses seeking sponsorship in Oklahoma?
International nurses working in Oklahoma must hold a valid Oklahoma nursing license, which requires passing the NCLEX-RN and meeting the Oklahoma Board of Nursing's credential verification requirements. Nurses educated outside the United States also need a credentials evaluation from an approved body such as CGFNS. Oklahoma participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact, which can simplify licensure for nurses already holding a multistate license from another compact state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
