Which companies sponsor visas for sales business development roles in Oklahoma?
Energy companies are the most consistent sponsors, with Devon Energy, ONEOK, and Williams Companies all having filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for business development roles in recent years. American Fidelity and BOK Financial also appear in sponsorship records for sales-adjacent positions. Aerospace firms in the Tulsa corridor, including companies supporting MRO operations, occasionally sponsor for enterprise business development roles tied to technical sales.
Which visa types are most common for sales business development roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sales business development roles that require a related bachelor's degree, such as business administration, marketing, or engineering when the role supports technical sales. The TN visa covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain business analyst or management consultant capacities. The L-1B is relevant for intracompany transferees moving into business development roles with specialized knowledge of a company's products or markets.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most sales business development sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the large majority of sponsorship activity in this category. Oklahoma City has the stronger concentration of corporate headquarters, particularly in energy, insurance, and financial services. Tulsa's economy leans toward energy midstream and aerospace, with business development roles tied to those industries. Smaller markets like Norman and Edmond occasionally see postings from technology firms and regional distributors.
How to find sales business development visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse sales business development roles posted by Oklahoma employers who have indicated willingness to sponsor. Rather than sorting through thousands of general postings, you can focus on companies with a documented history of H-1B or other visa filings for revenue and business development functions in Oklahoma's energy, aerospace, and financial services sectors.
Are there any state-specific considerations for sales business development visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's economy is heavily weighted toward energy, agriculture technology, and aerospace, so business development roles here often require industry-specific knowledge rather than generalist sales backgrounds. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific occupation and location, which is determined at the Oklahoma City or Tulsa metropolitan level. Candidates with engineering or technical degrees can be stronger H-1B candidates for roles that blend sales with solution design or account engineering.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales business development jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
