Which companies in Oklahoma sponsor visas for software quality assurance roles?
Aerospace and defense contractors including Spirit AeroSystems and L3Harris, energy technology companies operating in the Tulsa corridor, and financial technology firms in Oklahoma City have sponsored H-1B visas for software quality assurance professionals. Large healthcare IT organizations and government contractors in the state also appear regularly in Department of Labor Labor Condition Application filings for QA-related positions.
Which visa types are most common for software quality assurance jobs in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for software quality assurance roles in Oklahoma, as QA engineer and test automation positions typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Some applicants with Canadian or Mexican citizenship pursue the TN visa, which can cover software engineers. The O-1 visa is an option for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary ability in their field.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most software quality assurance sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the large majority of software quality assurance sponsorship activity in the state. Tulsa's concentration of aerospace, energy technology, and manufacturing IT firms drives consistent QA hiring. Oklahoma City benefits from a growing fintech and healthcare IT presence, along with state government technology contracts. Smaller pockets of activity exist near Norman, home to the University of Oklahoma and associated tech employers.
How to find software quality assurance visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters software quality assurance jobs in Oklahoma by sponsorship history, so you're not applying to roles where sponsorship is unlikely. Rather than sorting through general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces employers in Tulsa and Oklahoma City who have actively sponsored QA and test engineering roles, saving significant time during a job search that already carries immigration deadlines.
Are there state-specific factors that affect software quality assurance visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's sponsoring employers are concentrated in aerospace, energy technology, and healthcare IT, so QA candidates with domain experience in those sectors are more competitive in the state's market. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University produce engineering and computer science graduates, and some employers near those campuses are familiar with OPT and STEM OPT timelines. Prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are set by the Department of Labor based on the specific job location within Oklahoma, which affects which employers can sustain sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software quality assurance jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
